CrossTec ViewPoint is a system that allows dealers of various product lines to look up parts using a variety of methods such as cross-referencing, application, dimension, key phrases (similar to searching the internet), item class (categories) and vendor part number.  The system uses the internet to communicate with the vendor of the parts to place orders, check inventory on-hand quantities and keep the data as up to date as possible.  The ViewPoint user has all the parts information and look up capabilities that the vendor does in an easy to use and maintain system that can be learned in a matter of minutes.

No.  CrossTec ViewPoint requires an internet connection for a few different reasons.  Firstly, the internet connection is used to validate the software and to download your account information to the system.  This way, you don't have to set the system up in any way;  it's all done for you.  Secondly, the internet connection is used to keep the system up to date with all the new application updates and data updates for the datasets installed.  This way, whenever your vendor adds a new product to it's offerings or changes critical information, you are notified immediately and it becomes a part of your system.  Thirdly, the internet connection is used for sending your orders to your vendor via CrossTec's network.

Sending orders via CrossTec ViewPoint is very simple.  You simply create a purchase order, add your items to the purchase order, and click 'Send' to send your order.  You're notified immediately of items out of stock and are given a confirmation telling you that your order went through successfully.  It couldn't be easier!
